You may remember this pile of cupboard doors I inherited. After pawning most of them off on anyone who came to the door, drove by, walked in front of my house, I was left with five of the same size. I had an idea.
We have never had a headboard for this bed, which has been four or so years. So I thought I would make a cheap one out of my free cupboard doors. UGH!
This sat in the corner of my room for months. Nothing about this idea was going right. Starting with the foam pictured here. That was my first purchase and it was to thick.
Next was the trouble with putting the fabric on. I quit working on it for a long time after this mess.
After consulting with a friend who had stopped by we came up with plan B. Notice how much nicer the one on the right is. I had to glue the fabric to a board and then glue that to the cupboard. I won't even go into the pain the paint was!
Finally, the finished product. I screwed each door to the wall and then glued the padded part on. Yes, these now come with the house. I moved the mirrors over and am now on the hunt for some art to put over the headboard. Can't decide about the lampshade on the right, so yes that is the tag hanging off it. Longest project ever!
That is one great looking head board. A lot of work, but super cute.
