More updating

Blakelee was complaining about her room being to matchy and little kidish.  No way I'm going to repaint.
So we moved the pictures around and got two engineer prints to take up room on their monster wall.  They tore pictures out of magazines and covered the shoe closet door and the side of the dresser.  Progress, working on a gallery wall above the bed.

Time for a change

This navy blue wall has been a thorn in my side for awhile.  Got the room's occupant to help in removal.
So much better, why I endured it for so long is a mystery.
Another annoying part of his room.  Tiny nightstand with a hard to close drawer and no place for his books.
There were shelves for the Xbox that we moved to the lego wall.
New ikea storage for all his stuff.  I added drawers to this for more storage since this picture.  Really loving this expedit thingy.
Dresser next to the bed for a neat look there as well.
I do like Parker's room the best, it's almost always clean!  The exception being the floor to ceiling lego shelves that collect dust.  A glimpse of them on the right.  Two thumbs way up for having a room feel decorated and organized.  When does that happen around here?

Brings back bad memories

Keely was on the prom committee.
In the middle of sewing her something to wear we had to run and help with the decorating.  She just wanted me to help carry the suitcases.
The kids hired a company to do this entryway.

Back to the dress.  The theme was vintage.  My mom had the top and Keely just needed a skirt to go with it.
Too see through, not enough tulle.
16 yards later, it was what she wanted.  Yes, we are sewing this on prom day.  It seemed so simple in my mind.
Breaking needles, screwed up sewing, a ribbon crises.  I'm feeling sick all over again.  Did I mention it was the hottest day of the year so far, yes, there was sweating.

Hard to look at this picture, so many bad memories.  Just for me, Keely had a great time at the prom and Gregg got to wait up for her.  She came home at 2:45, I can't even think about that!  Let's not even talk about the boy coming before she was dressed, you'll just laugh.

We survived

We finished up our lacrosse season.
Reese and Keely enjoyed learning a new sport and got competitive very quickly.
We had a big team that stuck it out through the drama with coaches, bad reffing
and what some would say a little cheating during the championship game.  We took second place in the league, not too bad for a bunch of first timers.  Go Coyotes!

The Prom

Keely and her prom date Grant.  Most stressful day ever.  I was so tired from sewing and decorating I didn't go take pictures.  I hate the prom.
