Can't forget this

I wasn't ready to get rid of this mirror in the dining area but didn't think it went with my new wall.
A friend came over, I mentioned it and she whipped this up for me.
I painted the mirror dark brown, it was black and put this vinyl on.  I got it right the second time and now it's perfect for my new wall.  Thanks to Lisa I've also come up with an idea how to fix the other thing on this wall that doesn't go.

Entryway complete

Here it is all put together, our entryway (door to the right).
My craigslist dresser, inspiration for this whole wall.  Clear knobs from TJ Maxx, nickel ones found around the house.
Frame, TJ Maxx with an old picture of Reese and Blakelee, so cute.  Pawn, Kohls.  Red books, Grandma Brady.  Little bird, Michaels.
Lamp, Walmart.  Frame, TJ Maxx and hugging couple, don't remember.
Old frame from my mother-in-law.  Took out the baby picture of Gregg and painted it.
Keys, Parker found at Michaels.  New entryway, priceless.

Family Room Fun

I make some frames for the kids pictures and a poster size family print.  I'm thinking I may need to repaint the kid ones, I like the lighter color behind the family picture a little bit better.

Did I mention I've been busy.

So here is that ugly bookcase in the entryway before.
Here it is after.  I painted it out (Nate's words) and stenciled the back.
Yep, it was a pain but it worked out.
I'm liking the change.

Back to all my busyness.

I think mentioned a few posts ago that I have been busy.  Here is some more of what I've been doing around here.  This picture was after the headboard project.
Here is what it looks like now.  I painted those mirrors green and glazed them.  Got new lampshades and glued ribbon on them.  Made this sign for over the bed.
And sewed some pillows to finish it off.  I little more colorful and fun.  Some new drapes for the window and a dresser and I'll be happy with this room for awhile.

Thrift Store Fun

Goodwill here I come.  While out shopping with the girls last week I decided it was time to check out a thrift store.
I'm always seeing and hearing about great thrift store finds and I wanted to get in on the action.  I found this chair a few days after my first thrift store stop while I was on an all day date with Gregg.  Goodwill bargain bin $6.  Yes, Gregg did cry foul when I said I wanted to hit a thrift store.  He spent more than I did and wants to know when we are going back!.
A $5 can of spray paint and $5 worth of fabric and here it is.  I love it and the price makes it that much better.

Keely earned her letter for all her hard work in the classroom as well as the tennis and basketball court.
 Gregg was a presenter.
Sports and brains, way to go girls.

Craigs list project...complete

This is the entryway to our house.  I started with this small but cute table.
A big family picture and the bookcase which goes with a ladder that you can't see, yet.

And here is the after.  Dresser all painted and looking cute.  I'll have to take a close-up.  New lamp and some old stuff for the top.  Cute hooks in case you come to visit and need to hang your jacket up.  Don't want to leave out the new tall baseboard, love them.  Also loving the toasted marshmallow paint.  Next up treating the bookcase to a make-over.

Friday Night Crafting

While Brian was at work on Friday, Nina came over and we got our craft on.  This was Nina's project, all made from stuff I had around the house.
