Kings Beach

We headed up to Kings Beach on July 3rd to enjoy the lake and watch the fireworks.
The Moore's invited us and it sounded like a fun idea.

The water was great and the fireworks show was decent.

Not Reese's best picture.

The Borino's, Hardy's, Moore's and Donnelly's. We had a fun time and have been back to this beach twice since,we like it so much. Prior to this we had never taken our kids to the lake. Having grown up here the thrill was gone for me. I'm so glad to rediscover it for our kids they've loved playing there this summer. Brian was a newby to it as well.

Seeing orange

Parker and I headed up to Lake Tahoe this year for cub scout day camp. This was Parker's favorite thing I'm sure.
All the boys had fun playing games.

Shooting wrist rockets.

Building jeeps.

Making bird baths. Decorating these cool safari hats, making molds of animal tracks and of course wearing orange. No I was not photographed in my shirt, sorry to disappoint. We had a lot of fun, the weather was great and the forest setting was beautiful. Another fun scouting adventure to share with my favorite son.

watermelon, face painting and hott tubbing

We went to the summer festival at UNR and it was a lot of fun! Dad and Brian had a softball game so Parker went with them and Bree's friend Scott got to go with us for the adventure!
Mom's work friend Jane invited us

Free face painting! Reese got a crown, Blakelee got a peace sign and Bradlee got a dragon. Fun Fun!!

This is a gas station on the way to UNR. Mom thought it was really funny that it was an arm and a leg. haha

Then we went over to Mom's other work friend Anne-Marie's and got into her hot tub. The water was perfect and so was the weather.

Blakelee and Reese kept turning off their bubbles because it would hurt them.

Of course we took a million pictures!

Blakelee and Keely enjoying the bubbles.

We are very gifted Donnelly's. Thanks Jane and Anne-Marie for the fun night!

Three cheers for the red, white and blue

Cool shirts. Cute girls.
Nice flag tee. Cute guy.

The fourth of July breakfast at the park. Cute Keely.

Parker's comment, "I can't believe I'm wearing a pink shirt.

Bree and Janese. Nice glasses.

We looked so partriotic.

We also adopted Kimmie into our tie-dyed clan.

Bree left for Utah and missed out on our family photo but she's in this one. We got alot of compliments on our cool shirts. Lots of offers to do it with us the next time. Yep, this was a good idea.

Roasted marshmellows

One of our new favorite things.

A fire in our little fire pit, stoked up with all the branches that fall out of our willow trees.
Roasting marshmellows and making smores in the backyard. Ah, summer.

Rodeo

We checked out the rodeo this year.
It was alot of fun and the kids liked the action.

Thankfully the heat hadn't set in yet and it was nice and cool when the sun went down.

I think the last time we went Bree was an only child.

After the sticker shock of getting us in (only 5 of us went) it could be awhile before we go back. Fun but expensive for a large family.

Sweet new raft

We got a big 4 man raft for the river this year. The kids were screaming at this drop off. Then ran into a big rock.
It is awesome.

The river is a little low in spots so navigating the rocks is tricky. Other than that, so much fun.

Alameda Beach

I never get tired of looking at beach pictures.

This was an especially fun trip to the beach.

Janese was all about getting her hair wet no matter how cold it was.

Next thing you know they are all out there swimming and having a great time. I didn't get a picture of that, they were to far out. We had no towels.

They just dried off in the stiff ocean breeze.

The beach is fun even when the wind blows.

Big bike ride

This was us at the end, it was exhausting but so much fun. We had the great idea to peddle around these bikes built for three to nine. The nine one was broken so we got a three and a six and headed out. We were headed down hill in the beginning screaming and laughing and having a great time. You get the picture, lots of uphill on the way back. Reese, Keely and I took the lead at the end and finished ahead of Brian, Bree, Janese, Parker and Blakelee.
Yep, all smiles in the beginning.

We were a little confused about the seating at first and Blakelee got stuck in the baby seat. This is her trying to get out without flashing everyone around underwear shots.

Mad that we were laughing, taking pictures, and not helping her get out. I still laugh thinking about how stuck she was.
Under 18 had to wear a helmet. Yep, that rule went over big.

summer nights

Bree had a great idea to go ice blocking this week while the girls were at a birthday party. Bree, Parker, Keely and Bree's friend Scott went up to the high school and slid down the hill on blocks of ice.
Bree has done it several times but for everyone else they were new to it.

Parker was constantly on the ground. Every picture he is in, he is falling off or already off. It was hilarious to watch!

The breaking of the ice was Parker's favorite part. Overall it was a blast and the girls were mad when they got home saying "thanks for taking us ice blocking, oh wait you didn't!" haha
